Popcaan looks set to take on more acting roles in the near future following his film debut in British-Jamaican crime film The Intent 2: The Come Up.

The Unruly deejay recently revealed that the film has opened new doors for him in the film industry, adding that he could be open to accepting other roles in the near future following his impressive performance.

According to Popcaan, the film is only the beginning for him, as he has already began shooting several other projects including a documentary about his life and my journey in music.

The deejay revealed that acting is something he definitely wants to do more of, adding that the craft comes naturally to him.

The Dancehall superstar has been praised for his acting skills in the recently released British film, as many critics have labeled his performance as strongly convincing following a recent private screening.

The movie sees the “Family” deejay taking on the role of Jamaican gangster “Soursop,” which he reveals he was able to add his own unique twist to for authenticity.

“Certain slangs and certain things weh di people dem woulda expect from Popcaan I had to add because me want it feel real.” the deejay told The Star.

The Intent 2: The Come Up was released in the UK on September 21 and serves as a prequel to the successful 2016 film “The Intent.”
