Popcaan is sending out a message to his fellow Dancehall entertainers ahead of the new year.

The “Unruly Boss” took to Twitter last week to share that his new “Forever” album is currently sitting at the number two spot on the charts weeks after its July 20 release.

“Still top of the charts,” Popcaan wrote under the screenshot, “Just a reminder to the dancehall industry riddims don’t win Grammys, projects/body of work do. Let’s keep putting out more projects for 2019 Go buy Forever or stream it. More videos on the way.”

Popcaan Not Here For New ‘Braff’ Slang

Bob Marley‘s Legend (Remastered) album is at the top of the chart, and his Legend (Deluxe) is at number three, proving the longevity of the late King of Reggae’s work, decades after his death.

However will Dancehall entertainers listen to Popcaan’s advice? Since the origin of the genre in the late 1970s only a handful of artistes have released albums due to the lack of resources or the incentive to record an entire body of work.

In 2018, a few acts including Sean Paul, Konshens, Agent Sasco, Spice, Chi Ching Ching and more dropped albums. Lets see what next year will bring.
