Popcaan is set to make his big screen debut this summer.

The international Dancehall artiste stars in the highly anticipated Netflix sequel “The Intent 2”. In the Drama/Crime film, the “Family” deejay plays a notorious crime boss name ‘Sour Sop’ who runs the underworld in Kingston, Jamaica.

Popcaan’s acting skills in the movie has been lauded by the movie directors, Femi Oyeniran and Nicky Walker.

According to them, the “Unruly Boss” is good at the craft, “You would never think that he has never done acting before,” Walker said. “His [Popcaan] ability is amazing on screen the way he performs, the level he performs like he has done 10 movies. He takes the take and he remembers his lines exactly the same on every take, he is amazing.”

Earlier this year “The Intent 2” team flew to Jamaica to shoot scenes for the movie and the directors say they had a great time on the island.

This is not the first time entertainer has starred in a film however this will be the biggest project thus far. Back in 2016 Popcaan, whose given name is Andre Sutherland played Canadian rapper Drake’s right hand man in his “Please Forgive Me” short film.
