The man who helped make video footage of police officers shooting Alton Sterling to death in Baton Rouge go viral was arrested in what he suspects is retaliation.

Chris LeDay helped make the disturbing video go viral by being the first person to post it to a wider audience, which later caught the attention of media outlets. The Atlanta man posted the footage to his Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter accounts which all have a large following.

LeDay, who is a technician at the Dobbins Air Reserve Base claims he was arrested while on his way to work. He claims he was detained by police and military personnel claiming he fit the description of someone wanted for battery.

LeDay was reportedly arrested by cops for the alleged battery, but strangely he was later informed that he’d been arrested due to unpaid traffic tickets. He spent the night in jail and was later released after paying $1,231 in fines.

LeDay reportedly believes his arrest was retaliation by cops for his role in publicizing the shooting footage.
