Ninja Man is in need of an emergency heart surgery according to his lawyer, Valerie Neita-Robinson.

On Tuesday, the Veteran Dancehall artist was diagnosed with a serious heart problem that requires urgent medical attention.

The former Downsound records artist will reportedly need three to four months to recover after the operation. Ninja is expected to do an angioplasty as soon as possible because his pulse rate is extremely low at 40 -the pulse rate of the average person is around 90-.

Doctor also diagnosed that there is need of a ‘vascular intervention’ because there is evidence in Ninja Man’s heart of severely reduced blood flow (ischemia) to an area of heart muscle caused by one or more narrowed coronary arteries.

Despite the devastating news, Ninja Man is expected to return to court for his murder trial on Wednesday.

Neita-Robinson says her teams is now pressing for Ninja Man’s case to end so he can be removed from the stressful environment as doctors told him to remain as calm as possible.

During Friday’s court proceeding, a witness was giving evidence when the “Don Gorgon” started to complain about an intense chest pain and had to be rushed to the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH).

Ninja Man, real name Desmond Ballentyne, along with his son, Janeil, and another man, Dennis Clayton, were charged with the shooting death of Ricardo Johnson who was gunned down in the Waltham Park area back in 2009.

The case, first mentioned in court the same year, has had 17 missed trial dates and 23 mention dates since then.
