Up-and-coming Dancehall singer NeeQah links up with Charly Black to remix her hit single “Ms. Melanin.”
The duo release the official music video women empowerment anthem last week. “Ms Melanin” was first released on October 10 as a solo track produced by Quantanium Records.
Weeks later Charly Black hopped on the remix which dropped early November. The track encourages black women to show off their melanin as many women still fight against colorism especially in the Caribbean.
“Wah gwaan Miss Melanin? / Show off your melanin / See seh yah the Queen and ano nuh joke bout that / See dem a look because yo melanin a pop,” Neeqah sings before Charly Black spits, “Melanin Melanin Melanin rush my adrenaline / Gorgeous women that’s what i’m telling—in / You’re the queen of the earth / You know your worth…”
