Munga Honorebel appeared in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court in the Corporate Area on Wednesday.

The Dancehall entertainer is charged for the February 12, 2017 murder of Mr. Vegas’ nephew, Cleveland Smith.

According to police reports, Smith left his Moonlight Drive address in St Andrew on his green Rambo pedal cycle to attend a session. It is alleged that he was accosted by a group of men, one of whom was armed with a gun. Smith was shot after an altercation ensued between the men and himself. He was then rushed to the Kingston Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Munga Honorebel, whose given name Damian Rhoden was granted bail on June 23, 2017, in the sum of $500,000 after appearing at the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court in Half-Way-Tree.

According to the “Bad From Mi Born” deejay’s attorney Christopher Townsend yesterday was a commital hearing to examine whether the evidence against him is in keeping with the Commital Act

“It’ll be between myself, the clerk of court and the judge, and if the judge feels it’s a prima facie case, it then proceeds to the Home Circuit Court (Supreme Court in downtown Kingston); if not, then it gets thrown out. It’s a usual process,” Townsend said.
