According to Belafonte, while he and Mel are going through their nasty divorce, he needs help paying for housing, food, his phone and other necessities.
The judge agrees, granting his request and ordering the former Spice Girl to shell out $40,000 a month. It could have been worse. The original amount was $15,000 a month higher but the judge cut Mel B a break. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The judge’s order also includes a one-time payment of $140,000 to cover Belafonte’s legal fees. The $40k monthly payments will continue until the two work out their final divorce settlement.
