Dancehall entertainer Mavado is now a proud grandfather after his daughter, Daniela Brooks gave birth to a baby boy.
Daniela, who goes by the stage name Skye Diamond, confirmed the news last week while speaking about her brother’s incarceration and pending murder trial with the Star.
“A lot of people don’t know I gave birth to a son who is almost five months, but having him changed me a lot in terms of maturity and being a mother at my age, 18 years old, is motivation to do better,” Daniela said.
Last year Mavado’s teenage son was charged jointly with 23-year-old Andre Hines for the June 5, 2018 murder of Lorenzo Thomas, otherwise called ‘Israel’ or ‘Trulups’, who was shot, chopped and burned to death at his home in Cassava Piece, St Andrew.
Daniela said she has not gone to visit her brother who is currently held at a Juvenile Detention Center in Kingston. “I haven’t seen him or gone to look for him in that time because I knew it would stress me, and I was pregnant throughout that whole ordeal,” she revealed. “I ask persons that get the chance to visit him to tell him that I love him, and he knows now that he is an uncle.”
While the Gully Gad is yet to his grandson in person due to him residing in the United States, sources say Mavado is elated to be a granddad.
