Mavado is getting ready for his 16-year-old son’s bail hearing which is set for July 31.

The Dancehall entertainer is reportedly pulling out all the stops to prove his son is innocent of murder.

The teenage boy, who was detained on murder and conspiracy charges in connection with the death of 22-year-old Lorenzo Thomas is being held without bail at the Metcalfe Street Juvenile Remand Centre.

A bail application was made by the teenager’s attorney, Bert Samuels, earlier this month but the presiding judge was not able to make a definitive ruling. The prosecution has argued that he poses a flight risk and not be granted bail.

The boy was charged along with 23-year-old Andre Hines. Investigators say he instructed Hines to behead Thomas, who was shot and chopped to death before his body burnt inside his home.

It is alleged that Thomas’ death is a reprisal killing in connection with a shooting incident involving Mavado which took place in Cassava Piece, St Andrew just days prior to the man’s death.

Mavado has is currently in the United States and has ignored warnings by law enforcement officials to turn himself in for questioning.
