Lisa Hanna got some work done on Sunday with the help of her active Instagram account.

The Opposition Spokesperson on Youth and Culture sparked a heated debate when she uploaded a photo taken in the resort town on Negril which showed garbage being piled up by Mexican-owned all-inclusive beachfront resort, Azul Sensatori, causing a major health hazard for tourists and residents.

“If “You ONLY report to Mexico” then go back and stop insulting my people!,” Hanna captioned a photo. “This is totally unacceptable and a health hazard to the people in Negril. This hotel needs to clean up its act and be held accountable. This Hotel owner needs to respect our laws, our environment and our people,” she added.

Hanna then got to work contacting the relevant authorities and once again returned to her account within a few hours giving a pleasant update to her 191k followers.

Uploading a before and after photo, the MP wrote;

“UPDATE? They’ve been fined $10,000.00 and the GM of the hotel has been called to an urgent meeting tomorrow with the various agencies to sort out the breaches…”

“Thank you Minister Vaz for acting so quickly when I contacted you early this morning and thank you NWSMA who stepped in and cleaned up the mess. You can Read NWSMA response in my previous post and what they’ll be doing moving forward. Thanks everyone who commented and let’s all do our part to keep Jamaica clean and pristine! ,” she added.

Hanna has been blasted in the past with many dubbing her the ‘Minster of Instagram’ due to her frequent posts on the popular media-sharing application, however it’s good to see her using it for the greater good of the country.
