Lisa Hanna has become the latest public figure to give Dancehall artiste Rygin King their stamp of approval.

The “Legacy” deejay has emerged as possibly the most talked about Dancehall act for 2018 following his breakout performance at last summer’s Reggae Sumfest and has now landed the approval of Member Of Parliament Lisa Hanna.

The former minister of Culture took to Instagram earlier this week uploading a picture with a line from the deejay’s popular summer single “Tuff,” saying “If yuh nuh trouble mi, mi nah trouble yuh.”

However, some fans were not overly enthused by politician’s endorsement as they clearly have not forgiven the former beauty queen for her scathing criticism of Dancehall superstar Vybz Kartel.

Kmt…until she ready fi blame the artiste dem fi di crime rate caan tame politician,” one fan wrote while another commented, “Then inna the next breath u soon see her a bash dancehall m typical hypocritical politician. Use dancehall fi get a hype but hate it same time.”

Hanna was, of course, was blasted by fans back in 2017 after she called for Vybz Kartel’s music to be banned from airwaves.

This is not the first time a politician has given their public approval to a Dancehall act as Prime Minister Andrew Holness famously praised Mavado’s 2017 hit “Fresh Cash” during a political address.
