Rapper Lil Wayne sparked concern among his fans early Saturday morning after he posted two cryptic tweets, which could be interpreted as him announcing his retirement, or something far more sinister.
Fans immediately became concerned after the rapper took to Twitter suggesting that he may be quitting music, or as some pointed out, contemplating suicide.
“I AM NOW DEFENSELESS AND mentally DEFEATED & I leave gracefully and thankful I luh my fanz but I’m dun,” Weezy wrote Friday night, adding, “ain’t lookin for sympathy, just serenity.”
The Young Money boss has been a frustrated figure in recent years due to his contract issues with Cash Money Records. Weezy has been unable to release his long awaited Carter V album, and has vented his frustration towards Cash Money, and his former father figure Birdman.
Fans immediately took to Twitter to express their concern for the rapper, with hundreds fearing Wayne may be contemplating the worst.
Wayne would later tweet again reassuring fans he is fine “I’m good y’all don’t trip,” he tweeted.
