Konshens Signs Label And Recording Deal with EMPIRE

Konshens, one of the biggest names in dancehall music over the past five years, makes history as the first Jamaican artist to sign a label and recording deal with EMPIRE, home to some of the hottest hip hop and R&B artists (Anderson .Paak, Young Dolph, D.R.A.M., Fat Joe, Remy Ma and XXXTentacion).

Konshens is the newest addition to their expansive roster and kicks off the venture by releasing “Bruk Off Yuh Back,” a new collaboration between him and Chris Brown. The smash single on the popular Moskato Riddim is a staple in the core dancehall scene and is poised to impact national mainstream radio. The latest contribution of Chris Brown’s verse gives more life to the record for additional crossover appeal. The song is available this week via iTunes and all other digital platforms to follow.

” ‘Bruk Off Yuh Back’ has been one of the biggest dancehall songs in the world for a while now, garnering close to 100 million streams. It only made sense for Chris Brown to bless it with his voice and help cross it over into the U.S. mainstream,” states EMPIRE’s CEO Ghazi Shami.

Since 2012, Konshens, who is repped by Solid Agency management, made a mark with hits such as “Gal A Bubble,” “Do Sum’n,” and “Pull Up to Mi Bumper.” He has continued to release party-friendly dancehal tracks. A crossover into the mainstream was inevitable for Konshens. He has delivered provocative verses on some of the biggest R&B/pop songs to date, from Miguel’s “Adorn” to Chris Brown’s “Back to Sleep.” Other collaborations include The Chainsmokers “Don’t Let Me Down,” the remix to Jamie XX “I Know There’s Gonna Be (Good Times),” Dre Skull “Don’t Worry,” Ariana Grande “Side to Side,” Cardi B’s “Back It Up,” DJ Norie’s Afrobeats posse cut “Shabba,” and Rvssian “Privado” feat. Nicky Jam, Farruko, and Arcangel.
