The JFK airport was rocked by reports of gunshots in two terminals which then lead to a series of evacuations Sunday night.
Cops were forced to evacuate Terminal 8 after receiving a call reporting the sound of a gunshot near the departures area.
However the call was made just moments after Jamaican sprint legend Usain Bolt won the 100m finals at the Rio Olympics.
According to NBC News, an official told them “cheering, clapping and banging from people watching the Olympic Games may have been misinterpreted as a fight and gunshots.”
