Jamaica has been named the third coolest nation in the world by CNN Travel.

CNN Travel named the Caribbean island third on their list of the 14 coolest nations globally in a online post earlier this week.

They say the country is one of the coolest places to visit in the world, with much more to offer than just Reggae music and Rastafarianism, which they described as the most “kick-back religion ever invented”.

According to the post, Jamaicans posses one of the coolest accents that can be found around the English-speaking world, and is home to possibly the most distinctive hairstyle in the world, dreadlocks.

Jamaican sprint legend, Usain Bolt, was even labeled the personification of “cool” during the post.

The travel post did highlight some things that are “not so cool” about Jamaica, pointing to the island’s its high murder rate and widespread homophobia.

The top spot on the list was claimed by Brazil followed by Singapore.

Other nationalities named on the list included Mongolia, the United States of America, South Korea, Spain, Japan, Botswana, China, Australia, Nepal, Belgium and Turkey.
