Anchovy High in St James was forced to suspend classes for 1,200 students on Monday after a group of girls physically assaulted the dean of discipline.

According to reports, classes were suspended for grades nine through to eleven after a series of violent events among female students on the school grounds during their lunch break.

A video has since gone viral on social media showing the girls beating the dean of discipline.

Meanwhile, the parents of the girls involved in the incident will be informed of the disciplinary actions that will be meted out to them by a special committee that has been set up on Thursday following a marathon meeting with the police, representatives from the Ministry of Education and educators which was hosted earlier today. 

Anchovy High’s upper school classes are expected to resume on Wednesday. The lower school was not affected as its located about a mile away.
