Hanover has recorded its first murder for the new year following the stabbing death of a chef on Wednesday night.
According to reports, 49-year-old Robert Crooks of Haddington in the parish was was fatally stabbed by unknown assailants at his home.
Crooks was discovered by his brother, lying face down in a pool of blood with what appeared to be stab wounds to the abdomen and left hand shortly after 10:00pm.
The Sandy Bay police are investigating.
