A Judge has ordered a psychiatric evaluation of Dancehall artist Gully Bop following his appearance in the St Thomas Parish Court earlier this week on assault charges.

The veteran entertainer appeared before the court on Wednesday following accusations that he physically beat his wife during a dispute in Nuts River in the parish, where the entertainer has reportedly been living.

Court officials say a psychiatric evaluation and a social inquiry report was ordered by the presiding judge following the entertainer’s questionable behavior during court.

According to reports, the “Body Specialist” deejay case will now be transferred to the Drug Court and will be heard on September 6, as the complainant is currently overseas and will not return to the country until then.

Gully Bop, whose real name is Robert Malcolm, has since lashed out at the legal system as he later took to Facebook Live complaining about the way he was interrogated inside the courtroom.

The entertainer’s $40,000 bail was extended and he will return to court on September 6.
