George Nooks

George Nooks is contemplating a lawsuit against the police for false arrest.

The Reggae singer was taken into police custody last Friday by members of the police narcotics team.

According to reports, Nooks was arrested in Lane Plaza, in Liguanea. “They said he had swallowed some substance and took him to the Kingston Public Hospital, where they had him until his release on Sunday,” George Nooks’ attorney, Tom Tavares-Finson said.

“His vehicle was searched, he has not been charged nor interrogated, I don’t know what all of this is about. We’re looking to file a lawsuit for false arrest. I never see nothing like this yet,” Tavares-Finson told the Star.

Tavares-Finson added that Nooks is very disturbed by the incident, however left the island on Monday for Barbados to begin his tour.

Back in 2017, the “God Is Standing By” singer was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine; that case is still before the court.
