Former Digicel Rising Stars winner Dalton Harris is set to appear on yet another televised competition after impressing on UK’s X Factor.

The 24-year-old Jamaican singer is set to appear on the British talent competition after impressing judges with an emotional performance during last week’s televised audition show on ITV.

An extremely nervous Harris managed to impress judges and a crowd of approximately 6500 persons with an amazing rendition of Elton John’s ” Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word.”

“Just walking out there is something else. When you think that about it, sitting right there is Simon Cowell… this man has sold over 200 million singles for his artiste One Direction, and I am here to audition for him. Then you see this on TV and think it’s a live audience and there will just be a few people. There were 6,500 persons in the audience. It was a little intimidating, but I just had to keep all of that on the inside and just concentrate on giving the best performance.”

According to the singer, he has always aspired to compete on the international stage, and even auditioned for X Factor and The Voice in the United States previously but was prevented from progressing as he did not have the necessary paperwork.

The singer revealed that he will be returning to London this Wednesday for the next taping of the show but he could not share too much information on what happens next as he is now under contract with strict non-disclosure agreements.

Harris was, of course, crowned the winner Digicel Rising Stars competition back in 2010 at only 16-years-old. The vastly talented singer recently took the opportunity to thank fans who have flooded him with support since his qualification.
