The Former Miss Jamaica World contestant and Jet Blue Airways flight attendant who was arrested on drug trafficking charges in the United States has been denied bail.

Marsha Gay Reynolds, who was a runner-up in the Miss Jamaica World pageant in 2008 is accused of attempting to smuggle approximately 70 pounds of cocaine through a security checkpoint at the Los Angeles International Airport on March 18.

After being flagged for a random security check, the flight attendant reportedly tossed her heels and made a dramatic escape outside the terminal. She would later turn herself into police custody after crossing the country to New York.

According to reports Reynolds’ trial was was scheduled to begin on Tuesday August 9 in the Central District of California Court, however it was decided to delay the hearing until  November 29.

The accused former beauty queen is set to remain behind bars until her new trial date, as she is being held without bail bond.

If convicted Reynolds faces a minimum of ten years in a federal prison, and a maximum sentence of life in prison.
