Five Trinidadian nationals were denied entry to Jamaica due to lack of proof of yellow fever vaccination at the Norman Manley International Airport on Monday.
According to reports the passengers were denied entry after arriving on a Caribbean Airlines (CAL) flight.
Caribbean Airlines sources in Port of Spain have confirmed that Jamaica has imposed a mandatory requirement for passengers traveling from Trinidad to provide proof of yellow fever vaccination, according to 961wefm.
Trinidad and Guyana have been listed as countries at risk for yellow fever transmission by the World Health Organization (WHO).
Caribbean Airlines reportedly issued a reminder on Wednesday, insisting that passengers posses proof of the vaccine on their International Immunization Card, issued by the Ministry of Health.
Jamaica has had no reports of yellow fever to date.
