Grammy nominated artiste Devin Di Dakta has teamed up with American pop and electronic music DJ and producer Freddy Browne for a remix of the song Get Up. The song also features Nigerian singer Niniola.

The remix of Get Up was done by Mr. Calderon.

Freddy Browne who previously did work with Sly and Robbie, revealed how the collaboration with Devin came about.

‘I met Devin through my friends Sly & Robbie and their record label head Kaz in Kingston.  I had worked with Sly & Robbie a year earlier on a remix for a song of mine called Child of the City.   I also have my new solo album coming out this summer and Devin and I worked on a track for that album called OWTA, One World to Another.  As this new remix was coming together, I thought Devin would be great on it, I sent him the track, he loved it, wrote and recorded his part and there the collaboration happened’, Brown explained.

Get Up is due for release on June 16 via SOON Recordings/Caroline/Universal Music.

Browne revealed why Devin Di Dakta was chosen for the Get Up remix.

‘We developed a cool friendship and immediately we had the music connecting us. I really dig his human energy, great spirit, amazing vocal tone and style and his performances are high energy. İ knew from the start he and I would collaborate well together and we’re just getting started’.

Previous Jamaican artistes whom Browne has worked with include Shaggy, GC, Jimmy Cozier, Grace Jones and Chaka Demus & Pliers.

‘I have a cool history of working with some amazing Jamaican artistes and I look forward to working with many more in the future’, he added.

Commenting on the collaboration, Devin Di Dakta said ‘The song with me and Niniola is a great one. Being that we are both stars on the rise and from two different hemispheres, it is just right to join both through the power of music’.
