Beenie Man may have been seeking to spark some controversy after dropping a new diss track aimed at Popcaan last week but fans were definitely not having it.
The veteran Dancehall superstar raised a few eyebrows last weekend after he decided to take shots at the “Unruly” deejay in a new single titled “Mind How Yuh Pass Yuh Place,” which is featured on Seanizzle’s 13th Friday Riddim.
However, while the gritty track does punch some solid bars Dancehall fans seem unimpressed by the veteran deejay with many labelling his effort as “disappointing” and distasteful.”
The “Who Am I” deejay was heavily criticized by many fans who blasted him for targeting the young Dancehall deejay, with many accusing him of being envious of Popcaan’s success.
One fan took to Instagram blasting the entertainer saying “Doctor yuh do yuh time so nuh ova dweet. When last yuh get a #1??? That mean yuh fi lef music now go star movie”
Beenie Man has yet to respond to the criticism but some of his core fans have come to his defense highlighting that the genre is largely built on rivalry and fans should not take feuds too seriously.
