A convicted lotto scammer who is bounded to a wheelchair had his sentence shortened by the Court of Appeal on compassionate grounds recently.

The St Elizabeth man, Kurt Taylor was convicted of possessing sheets of paper containing personal information and numbers of US citizens, commonly referred to as lead sheets.

He was sentenced to five-years at hard labour in December 2014, but had the judgement reduced to three years following a ruling from the Court of Appeal recently.

The Court of Appeal ordered the Taylor’s release on compassionate grounds.

The convicted man is permanently bounded to a wheelchair after being shot in 2010.
