The St Ann police are reporting a concerning trend of criminals fleeing other parishes and taking up refuge in the area.

The concerning revelation was made by Deputy Superintendent (DSP) Ryan Gayle, while he was speaking at the St Ann Municipal Corporation meeting which was held last Thursday.

According to Gayle, while there has been an overall reduction of crime and violence within the parish there has also been a notable spike in the number of shootings in areas such as Discovery Bay and Ocho Rios. This they believe is largely due to an influx of criminals who have invaded the parish.

The Deputy Superintendent says they are currently working with other divisions to determine reasons behind this disturbing trend, and hopes they can curb the problem in a short order.
