Chozenn has made history with his controversial rendition of Dovey Magnum’s single “Bawl Out.”

The Gospel artiste recently made history after becoming the first Jamaican Gospel artist in quite some time to score over a million views on YouTube with his cover version of the raunchy Dancehall single.

The track, which has recorded 1,005,728 views on the streaming service since its release in May looks set to be one of the most successful Jamaican Gospel tracks of all time.

Chozenn was heavily criticized by both Christians and Dancehall fans alike following the song’s release due to the controversial nature of the original version, which was penned by Dovey Magnum.

Despite this, the Gospel star says he has not surprised by the attention the song has received claiming that its resounding success was ordained by God, as he saw it as a vessel to reach the masses.

“I’m joyful because the gospel is being heard and felt whether people like it or not. God works mysteriously, and my heart is at peace. What they are seeing now in the physical was what the Lord revealed to me already in the spirit, so to God be the glory and all praises to the King,” he said.

The singer went on to say the song’s success should prove that God’s influence cannot be limited to both fans in the church and secular world.
