A 13-year-old boy was found dead with a gunshot wound in St Mary on Sunday.
Cops have identified the deceased as Davion Johnson of a Grange Hill district, Westmoreland address. He was spending the weekend with his mother and his stepdad at the St Mary Country Club.
According to reports, at about 8:45 am, Johnson’s body was found under a chair inside the living room. He was seen suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.
He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The stepfather of the boy is a licensed firearm holder. The St Mary police say that they are now conducting investigations to determine how the teen was shot.
The child’s family has since received counselling and support from the Community Safety and Security Branch (CSSB) of the St Mary police.
