Capleton says he is in good spirits after being granted bail in the sum of $250,000 on Monday.

The Dancehall/Reggae veteran who is charged with rape is scheduled to return to court on June 14.

Parish Judge Vaughn Smith  turned down a request by the clerk of court, Hansurd Lawson, for the entertainer to surrender his travel documents as part of his bail conditions but warned that he may do so if the entertainer misses one court date.

Capleton was also ordered to submit his fingerprints to the police and warned not to communicate with the complainant or her relatives.

Speaking with Onstage TV shortly after his release, Capleton said that he is good spirits and he is confident in the victory of “good over evil”.

“This won’t let Capleton get evil, i will continue to do good,” he said.

Reports from the police are that on Saturday, April 28 at about 11:20 a.m., the “Jah Jah City” singer whose real name is Clifton Bailey, reportedly hired a female hairdresser to groom his hair at a hotel in the New Kingston area. While at the hotel, it is reported that he forcibly had sexual intercourse with the female.
