Capleton has had his bail extended in his ongoing rape case after appearing in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Friday.

The veteran Dancehall entertainer, whose real name is Clifton Bailey, is set to return to court on September 4.

According to reports, the new hearing date was set after the court was told that the case files were incomplete.

The 51-year-old Rastafarian deejay was charged with rape after allegedly forcing himself upon a female hairdresser he employed to groom his hair at a New Kingston hotel on April 28.

Capleton Releases Official Statement After Bail

Capleton has however strongly denied the allegations, claiming that the woman tried to extort him.

A police report of the alleged extortion attempt was filed by the deejay on May 2 at Half-Way Tree Police Station.

Attorneys representing the “Who Dem” deejay say they are in possession of proof of the extortion attempt and remain confident their client’s name will be cleared.
