The United Kingdom and Canada have both issued travel advisories to their citizens currently in Jamaica to limit their travelling outside resorts in St James following Thursday’s state of emergency declaration.

Both the Canadian and UK Governments posted advisories via their public websites warning their citizens to exercise extreme caution with their movements outside resort properties especially if travelling at night or travelling to and from the airport.

The respective advisories went into further detail warning both sets of visitors to only use prescribed safe and organized modes of transportation in their excursions if they are absolutely necessary.

The travel advisory follows Thursday’s declaration of a state of emergency for the parish of St James.

Canada and The UK’s travel advisory comes just weeks after the United States had issued a level-two for Jamaica, particularly the parishes of Kingston, St Catherine and St James.
