Buju Banton is unable to enter Trinidad and Tobago legally due to his criminal record.

The “Wanna Be Loved” singer, whose given is Mark Myrie, is scheduled to perform live at the “I Am Legend” concert in Queen’s Park Savannah on Sunday.

The Grammy-winning Reggae singer was convicted on drug-related charges back in February 2011. However the twin island republic’s Security Minister, Stuart Young, says he is prepared to give Buju Banton an exemption.

“Buju Banton falls foul of our immigration laws in T&T,” Young said during a post-Cabinet news conference on Thursday.

Young told the press that he instructed the organisers to make an application to the Ministry of National Security and quickly added that he is prepared to respond favourably, “I am willing to give the application for the concert to go on,” he added.
