With only days before his release Buju Banton remains positive and in great spirits. He is currently counting down the days, along with millions of others to his release.
Yet, he would like to send a message from his heart to all before he is released.
“In light of the adversity I have encountered, I feel the need to stress that my only desire going forward is peace and love. I only want to be associated with my craft. Having survived, I want to share the good news and strength of my music. I just want to continue making music, which Ive devoted my life to. I look forward to the opportunity to say a personal thanks to my fans and everyone who supported me.”
Next month, the Reggae superstar will have served his 10-year prison sentence for drug trafficking.
Buju Banton who is presently being housed at the McRae Correctional Facility in Georgia, is set to be released on December 8, 2018, and will be deported back to Jamaica shortly after.
According to Banton’s publicist, Ronnie Tomlinson, he is in good spirits and is anxiously awaiting the day he is no longer a guest of the United States penal system.
“Buju is in good spirits and is counting down the days, as we all are,” Tomlinson said.
The “Untold Stories” singer’s first live appearance is slated to take place in Jamaica with a date and venue to be announced, she added. “A concert is being arranged for Jamaica. It will be promoted by his team in cooperation with other entities.”
Despite his incarceration the deejay has managed to keep busy over the last few months, launching several ventures in anticipation of his release, including a clothing line “Everything BB,” which features t-shirts that display his image and likeness.
