The official websites responsible for selling tickets to Buju Banton’s highly anticipated Long Walk To Freedom Tour have crashed.

Tickets went on sale 11:00 am Thursday, however minutes after the websites went live connection was lost.

“With tremendous response from fans worldwide we are aware that both bujubanton.com and Caribtix.com website have crashed,” The Grammy-winning singer wrote on Instagram. “My team is working expeditiously to get the sites back up please pay close attention to @destinemedia and / or @budafuco96 for more information.”

Buju Banton assured fans that tickets are still available and are not sold out despite rumours on social media. He also warned fans not to make ticket purchases from any other websites.

The Dancehall/Reggae superstar kicks off his Long Walk To Freedom Tour on Saturday, March 16 at the National Stadium in St Andrew.

Buju Banton, who was slapped with a 10-year sentence on drug trafficking charges, was released on December 7, and has been keeping a very low profile since returning to the island.

While the “Wanna Be Loved” singer failed to attend a press conference on Wednesday, he made sure to send a heartfelt message to his fans for their continued support over the years.

“Thank you for coming out tonight,” Buju Banton send via video, “I want to thank you all for making time from your busy schedules to be here with us. I want to thank our sponsors, those who saw it fit to come together in the spirit of unity to make something of this magnitude happen here in Jamaica.”

“I want to thank those in the media, the print media, radio, television, for their love and support over the years and especially at this time… On the 16th of March, the national stadium will be a venue like no other. So many years since i’ve seen my people and we have exchanged communications spiritually, mystically and on the 16th of March we endeavour to reconnect.”
