The bloodletting continued to plague the parish of St. James over the holidays as one man was shot and killed by unknown assailants while and a 7-year-old boy left nursing gunshot wounds in the same incident.

The deceased has been identified as 42-year-old Wayne Wynter of a Mount Salem address in the parish.

According to reports, Wynter was driving his car along a section of the Mount Carey community shortly after 12:00 pm when gunmen attacked spraying the vehicle with bullets.

When cops arrived on the scene they reportedly found Wynter and a 7-year-old boy in the vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds.

The two were rushed to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where Wynter was pronounced dead and the boy taken to emergency surgery.

Investigators also revealed that a 9mm pistol was also recovered from the vehicle Wynter was driving.

The boy remains in serious but stable condition.
