Bounty Killer says he is hands down the Bob Marley of Dancehall.
Amidst the debate between Beenie Man and Vybz Kartel on who is the current King of the Dancehall, a Bounty Killer made a powerful comment comparing the War Lord to the late King of Reggae.
“King Yellow Man, Beenie Man, Vybz Kartel the current king and one of the dancehall leading bredda, I want to make this clear and very clear, Bounty Killer is the Bob Marley, of Dancehall. There is no DJ on this planet do more for dancehall than Bounty Killer has done. Now this is not up for debate you dig,” Bounty Killer agreed with the comment and wrote, “Hands Down.”
Bounty Killer has an arsenal of international hits with entertainers like Fugees, No Doubt, Busta Rhymes, Mobb Deep, and more. The veteran also introduced the world to some of dancehall’s biggest names including Elephant Man, Busy Signal, Vybz Kartel, Mavado.
However despite his huge accomplishments and influence within the genre, Bounty Killer often doesn’t get the respect he deserves from the current and older generation of dancehall artistes.
