Embattled American comedian Bill Cosby is planning to hold a series of town hall discussions about sexual assault. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A spokesperson for the Cosby revealed the news, just days after the jury in his sexual assault case decided that it was unable to reach a verdict. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you recall, Cosby was accused and charged for drugging and molesting a woman at his Philadelphia home in 2004. Two out of the 12 jurors held out on a guilty verdict, forcing a mistrial. Although the Montgomery County District Attorney immediately announced that he would retry the case, Cosby has decided to use his new found free time to educate people about sexual assault. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“Mr. Cosby wants to get back to work,” Cosby’s spokesman, Andrew Wyatt, said on “Good Day Alabama” in Birmingham. “We’re now planning town halls and we’re going to be coming to this city sometime in July … to talk to young people because this is bigger than Bill Cosby.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“Laws are changing. The statute of limitations for victims of sexual assault are being extended. So this is why people need to be educated,” spokeswoman Ebonee Benson, added. “A brush against the shoulder, anything at this point, can be considered sexual assault and it’s a good thing to be educated about the laws.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

She continued, “This issue can affect any young person, especially young athletes of today, and they need to know what they’re facing when they’re hanging out and partying, when they’re doing certain things that they shouldn’t be doing. And it also affects married men.”
