Ashanti may have a large fan base on social media with 3.8 million followers on Instagram and 1.92 million on Twitter but it seems her recent concert failed to get any support.

According to Bossip, the pop star was slated to perform at Stony Brook University’s Back To Brook event later this month, but her show was axed after they sold just 24 tickets.

“As an organization, we do our best to host programs for students while providing diversity and inclusion. However, we have struggled to execute certain aspects. With only a week before the concert, only 24 tickets were sold to students,” The school wrote in a statement released about the cancellation.

The school went on to explain they had originally booked Teyana Taylor for the concert but she pulled out last minute, leaving the organizers to scramble to properly promote Ashanti as the new headliner.

Meanwhile, Ashanti is working on a joint album with frequent collaborator, Ja Rule.

“We’re gonna carve out the time and make it happen,” she said in June during an interview with ET. “It’s so funny because we’ve been talking about that for so long, but I think now he’s like ‘OK, now it’s time to do it.’”
