Wayne Marshall and his wife, Tami Chin Mitchell stopped by The Fix to discuss Wayne’s ever-evolving spirituality in music and the dancehall community’s reaction to it.

During the interview, the “Glory To God” deejay gave some insight as to how his new single with Bounty Killer came about, as well as address rumors that they are both set to become Christians.

According to the deejay, the two of them decided to work on the track together after Bounty Killer heard his previous gospel release, Glory To God, and suggested they came together to “give some praise.”

Although the “Warlord” may seem an odd choice to collaborate on a gospel track the singjay revealed that the veteran deejay has actually always been a very “God-fearing man,” who loves and respects the creator.

The two deejays had previously collaborated on several tracks over the years including When the Smoke Clears, Sufferer, Be on the Alert and Go Hard, but this is a first in the gospel category.

When asked about rumours that he and Bounty Killer are set to become Christians the deejay says spirituality is where his mindset is right now, adding making himself accessible to God, and allowing himself to be used as a vessel by the creator.

For months fans have speculated that the deejay was moving along the path to Christianity after he re-emerged with the gospel track and cut his off his iconic locks following the death of his father.

Marshall says that for the rest of the year he hopes to continue to motivate and inspire people.

The deejay also revealed that he is set to release an upcoming project with Damian Marley, and although he is being guided by his spirituality will not limit his music to strictly gospel songs.
