With the release of a handful of hits since the start of 2017 including “Son of a Queen,” “Fast,” “Pretty Girl Team,” and “Nice & Easy,” Dancehall artist Alkaline is slowing winning over many fans of incarcerated superstar Vybz Kartel .

After the Vendetta deejay’s performance in Jamaica last month at Magnum “New Rules,” his first in three years, a slew of “Gazanation” fans are now starting to support Alkaline.

However while some won’t completely switch from the self-proclaimed “Worl Boss,” many die-hard fans have started to give the “Badness It Name” deejay a listening hear although they still complain about Alkaline not giving Vybz Kartel credit for allegedly stealing his style.

Vybz Kartel and Alkaline both share several similarities, the two Dancehall heavyweights entered the scene with the help of controversy.

The Vendetta deejay with his alleged tattooed eyeball, skin bleaching and raunchy lyrics which saw an initial backlash from Dancehall supporters however now it seems those days are long gone.

Vybz Kartel also suffered the similar fate back 2006 after his departure from the Bounty Killer-led Alliance Camp.

Kartel was blasted for his violent and sexually explicit lyrics and music videos and later his skin bleaching. He was also blamed for multiple problems in society as recent as last month with Lisa Hanna’s call for his music to be banned form local radio.

The surge in new Alkaline fans unfortunately records less persons supporting Popcaan his current rival and more saying Mavado’s Gully Side due to the GullyVendetta affiliation.
