Dancehall enigma Alkaline has topped the 2017 Youth View Awards (YVAs) nomination list.
The Vendetta deejay secured 10 nods while incarcerated dancehall superstar deejay Vybz Kartel was nominated in seven categories. Alkaline’s current rival Popcaan tied with the ‘Queen of Stage’ Spice for six nods.

Other nominees includes; Konshens with five nominations, Ding Dong and Shenseea with four and The ‘Gully Gad’ Mavado and Ishawna with three. Reggae firebrand Nesbeth, Quite Perry, Masicka, Xklusive, Miss Kitty, Yanique The ‘Curvy Diva’ and Beenie Man were all nominated twice.
The 2017 Youth View Awards will be celebrating it’s 10th anniversary, the event will be held on February 8, 2017 at the National Indoor Sports Arena in St Andrew and will be hosted by Yendi Phillips and Bambino.
