A 50-year-old contractor died on Wednesday as a result of injuries he received in a motor vehicle crash on the Bull Point main road in Ocho Rios, St Ann.
The deceased has been identified as Fitzroy Fletcher of a Steer Town address in the parish.
According reports, Fletcher was driving a Toyota Rav4 motorcar about 10:20 pm in an easterly direction, when on reaching a section of the roadway, the vehicle developed a skid, spun around and crashed into a tree.
Police said he sustained multiple injuries and was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
